Bloomba - alt. to Gmail?
Simson Garfinkel at Technology Review posted a comment on Bloomba, a new search-based e-mail client. He calls it a privacy-friendly, ad-free equivalent to Gmail.
Having checked out the product details for Bloomba, one glaring difference jumped out at me - Bloomba is $59.
Maybe I'm weird (ok, I am weird) but I don't have a problem with Google scanning my e-mails for keywords in order to serve ads. At least they are upfront about how it works. I love the storage capacity and the user interface. I also like the fact that it is free and, unlike Bloomba, I'm more confident that it will still be around in a few years.
