Personal Tech. Freedom Coalition
Rep. Rick Boucher's HR107 bill is about to get some support from some high-profile companies (Intel, Sun Microsystems, Verizon Communications, SBC, Qwest, Gateway and BellSouth) and associations (the Consumer Electronics Association, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Consumers Union and others) who are forming the "Personal Technology Freedom Coalition".
It looks like the PTFC will be advocating the same changes to the DMCA. Some critics point out that these changes amount to nothin more than a power shift (The bill wants to let the FTC handle enforcement). It will be interesting to see how this shakes out.
