Improv Everywhere
Before we went to The Hives show on Sunday night, Amy and I had dinner with our friends Scott and Jill. Scott's friend Birch, who was in town from New York, joined us. Turns out that Birch is part of the Upright Citizen's Brigade and does a lot of improv comedy stuff.
One of the funnier things that we discussed was the stuff that he had done with Improv Everywhere. IE is an improv comedy troupe that stage "conquests" around New York City. It is sort of like flash mobs (which I hate), but much funnier.
I'm not going to try and explain all of them; however, check out "Best Gig Ever" and "Anton Chekov" for a little taste of what they're all about. Unfortunately, their site uses frames, so I can't link to the individual conquests without losing all of the navigation. Here is the main "Conquests" page.
