Kentucky gets a new brand
It turns out that "Kentucky - It's That Friendly" isn't really working out as a brand for the state of Kentucky. I'm not sure why anyone really thought that it would especially when you add in the creepy Teletubbies-inspired license plate graphic.
So now, the people of Kentucky are being asked to vote on new branding. Currently there are four choices:
Make History
This one looks like the logo to a 70s theme park that would be based somewhere in the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. Plus, the book makes it seem kind of dated.
Unbridled Spirit
This would be the logo for our NFL team if we had one. Seems a little too slick for a state logo, but I think I dislike it the least.
Where Legends Are Born
Similar to Unbridled Spirit. Horse image seems to be too tall and too far to the right (maybe that was on purpose).
Limitless
This would be the logo for our arena football or minor league hockey team. Too "new country" for me. I would expect to see something like this on the back of an acid-washed denim jacket in Nashville.
Vote for your favorite here.
