XBOX for distributed computing?

The guys over at AnandTech wanted to see if they could build a distrbuted computing environment using 8 XBOXes. The cost of buying a similar environment is around $4,000, so using 8 XBOXes and mod chips (for around $1,800) would be significantly cheaper.
I won't spoil the results of their performance benchmarks; however, regardless of the outcome, there is something cool about seeing 8 XBOXes stacked together like that.
