TV networks exploiting TiVo
According to an Associated Press article, several networks have been padding the end of their TV shows to (as allegedly) disrupt the ability of DVR users to record shows on other channels.
For example, if you have a single-tuner DVR and are recording a show that runs from 9:00PM to 10:02PM, your DVR will not be able to switch over to another channel to record that other show you watch at 10:00PM.
I've recently noticed ABC running some shows 2 minutes over; however, I hadn't stop to question it. Fortunately, I have a dual-tuner DirecTiVo, so I should be safe for now.
