Wal-Mart's iLo brand
All of the gadget-related sites are abuzz with the new iLo brand of electronics that Wal-Mart has quietly been rolling out since May.

After checking out Walmart.com (since I hate going to the actual store), I am really surprised at the price of their products, especially considering the features they include.

For example, the iLo DVDR04 is a DVD recorder that has component video outputs, digital audio outputs and a FireWire input for $149. That's really cheap!

They also carry another model of DVD recorder that features an 80GB hard drive for $278.

The biggest knock I have against iLo, besides consumer perception of the quality of Wal-Mart products, is the look of the products. They definitely don't have a high-end look to them. But I guess I shouldn't expect that for something that costs $150.

I'm very tempted to pick up one of the DVDR04s just to try it out. Or...one of my loyal readers could pick one up from my Froogle Wish List.
Comments:
Excellent prices. Just picked up a 27" LCD iLo TV for $618.00 + tax. Best price around for that size of LCD TV.

For your own sake, check out this website or any other consumer review website (consumer reports) before even considering buying an iLo product www.igorinternational.com/blog/2004/12/wal-marts-ilo-house-brand
