The Cult on Late Late Show
The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson featured a performance by The Cult last night. Luckily, I heard about the it on Hair Nation (Sirius 23) yesterday afternoon, so I was able to TiVo it.

They performed their classic "Wild Flower." What is weird is that watching the video of the show and just the audio give two totally different "vibes" (for lack of a less-cheesy word).

On screen, it played a little flat. Ian didn't really look all that into it. I'm sure playing on a cramped stage in a TV studio (where the audience is across the room) doesn't help. However, listening to just the audio, it sounds awesome.

Check out the MP3 here.

Hey Shawn, what software do you use for ripping audio and/or video clips from DVR'ed content? I'm using SageTV as our DVR application, and all of its content is stored locally as .mpg files.

What would I need if I wanted to, say, rip a 30-second audio or video clip from one of those files (preferably in some compressed format -- avi or Quicktime).
