Some Super Bowl commercials in SD?
Why did some companies choose to use standard definition commercials during the Super Bowl? Because most commercials were in high definition, standard definition spots from Pepsi, Mobile ESPN, Overstock.com and the movie Cars looked terrible by comparison.
Sure, most people are still using SD sets; however, creating the commercial in HD allows you to serve both SD and HD sets. Seems like a poor decision, considering the cost of the airtime.
