Today is the 36th anniversary of the plane crash that killed most of Marshall University's football team, its coaches and some fans. In all, 75 people were killed when the Southern Airlines Flight 932 crashed returning from a game at East Carolina.
As an alum of Marshall, I always remember this date, even though I wasn't born when it happened.
Warner Bros. is releasing a movie about the crash and its aftermath, which I am hoping doesn't suck, on December 22nd. It stars Matthew McConaughey and Matthew Fox.

Comments:
Just adding a correction here. No Cheerleaders died in the crash. At that time, cheerleaders didn't accompany the teams on flights.
